Your personalized weight loss plan will be developed to help you lose weight and improve or eliminate related health condition
Nutrition is a part of any successful weight loss program, regardless of exercise and medication. We will learn about your food preferences, allergies, intolerances, and family/social unit to help develop a personalized nutritional plan. Education is provided about nutrition to ensure you know how to make healthy choices. There is no "one size fits all" diet plan or approach used. Having regular in-person or virtual visits with the provider will help support you and keep you on track.
Incorporating exercise into your life for the long term is one of our goals. If you enjoy exercise, you will be more likely to stick to it. We will explore your level of fitness and evaluate how we can meet you where you are. We begin with a walking program, then add more activity to your life. Guidance for initiating resistance training will be provided to help you maintain healthy bones and lean muscle along with safe and realistic goals.
Your weight loss plan may include medications that will help make it easier for you to follow a nutritionally supportive diet, address low energy, or help you with motivation. Some medications may help reduce your appetite, help to make you feel full sooner or help reduce the hunger hormone signals to your brain. Other medications may help with how quickly your body processes food and how it stores fat. Different lipotropic products may be recommended to help shed those excess pounds.
We start with an established baseline to monitor your progress. Follow-ups are best in our clinic, at least initially, but you can check-in virtually or through our patient education platform as you progress. Your weight is taken at each follow-up to ensure you are moving in the right direction. If we need to make changes to your plan or medications to help keep you on track, these are identified quickly to ensure your success.
